Last Several Months

Time flies... Here are some pictures and a video update from the last several months!
Kids grow up fast! They have now lived in Japan for 4 years and done a great job making this their home. Grateful to God for his mercies toward them!
Trying to get a Christmas card picture on our balcony. Wish we had a remote control for our camera!
A view from our apartment building. The pool you see is on the roof of our kidsâ elementary school. The empty lot on the right used have an old apartment building. The government is tearing down the old apartment buildings in our area and building high-rise apartments in the next few years. 11,000+ people within 5-minute walk from our apartment and the number will continue to rise in the coming yearsâ¦
I had the privilege of leading the corporate singing time at the Church Planting Institute National Conference. Hundreds of pastors, church planters, missionaries, and ministry leaders and their children working in Japan came together for a rich time of connecting with each other and being refreshed by the gospel.
Thanksgiving Dinner for our community. We love them and thank God for the privilege of sharing our lives with them!
We hosted two Christmas gatherings with songs and a short message about the meaning of Christmas. One with our community dinner friends, another one with the people from our kidsâ schoolâs PTA, where I serve. Continuing to pray for our friends to experience Godâs love for them in Christ.
One (huge, for me) disappointment we experienced was that we were not able to secure a gym for the weekly kids games and adult basketball we did last year. I miss the time with the local children and the time of playing basketball with friends:( But, we created a PTA basketball club this spring, so Iâm looking forward to connecting with new people through this club!
This is our fourth cherry blossoms season we had in Japan. Peter finished his kindergarten and entered the local elementary school in April. J graduated from the same elementary school and transitioned to a Christian school one-hour away. So thankful for Godâs grace toward us!
Hosting our friends from Redemption Hill Church in Singapore for dinner. They have been a generous partner in the gospel with us, and it was so much fun to spend a couple of days with them in Tokyo. Emma and I will have the privilege of attending their church retreat in June.
We have been gathering to worship the Lord on Sundays with Ian and Chi for the last several months, and weâre about to add a few more families to our gathering starting in June. Please pray for Godâs grace and guidance as we make this transition!Posted in:
